I ordered the Arducam 5MP camera from Amazon. Before I worry about image quality, I need to know how many cameras I need. As both the 5 and 8 megapixel cameras have (theoretically) the same viewing angle, I can use the cheaper camera for now to test. I also switched from my 2011 Raspberry Pi B to the newer 2014 Pi B+ v1.2. Importantly, the GPIO pinouts are different here than on the older Pi. Just like before, the button is connected to the ground (Pin 9) and GPIO18 (Pin 12). That’s really counter intuitive.
I connected the camera and loaded a fresh install of Rasbian via NOOBS. For anyone who wants to replicate this, once Raspian is up and running, you need to run “sudo raspi-config” and enable the camera.
Frustratingly, the holes in the Arducam camera are a different size and position than the holes on the Waveshare camera. I’ll have to remove the nails and use smaller ones. Double sided (foam) tape may be more practical.

I had some adhesive velcro scraps lying around that were the exact size of the camera. I used pliers to remove the nails, and then attached the velcro. 
The velcro holds well! Time for some tests!
