I’ve just started a new project that I’ll be working on through the Spring 2020 semester. This project is part of ENPM809T – Autonomous Robots with Dr. Mitchell at the University of Maryland. I’ll be working with Yash Savle on this project for the whole semester. We’ll be creating a Raspberry Pi based autonomous car that must navigate around an area and collect pawn-like pieces of a particular color.
Everyone in the class is working with the same parts kit:
- Raspberry Pi 4 Model B with 16gb microSD
- 3 Arduino Nanos
- Omars SlimPack 10,000 mAh battery
- Actobotics Parallel Gripper Kit A
- 3V Ultrasonic Sensor
- DF Robot Baron Mobile Platform
- Dagu Simple Encoder Kit
- 9DoF IMU
- HS-311 Hitec Servo
- Breadboard
- Rechargeable AA batteries
- Misc jumper wires
We’ll be working with Python 3.7 and OpenCV. I intend to update this blog with our progress and challenges on this project throughout the semester.
